Nov. 22-23, 2002:
Started out at Goose, Whaler ready to
go Friday morning around 7:30ish.
Got around the corner of Blackjack, and the motor began to sputter. It died,
we started it, it was up and down with RPMs. Discovered a hole in the gas
bulb, so we simply parked it there to chill. Good call. We proceed to catch
100+, 3 limits plus 3, all between 17" and 21". Not bad for a broken boat!
The next day, after changing the bulb,
test running it, and determining we
were not going to risk it, we walked to the back side of Turtle pen in
Copano. We walked to the back of the first cove, and immediately started
catching them, around 11:30 Saturday. We kept nothing under 18", with
about 18 keepers that day. Colors ranged from Morning Glory, RootBeer
and Native Shrimp to limetreuse BA's. Arms very tired of catching...not a
bad trip, seeing it was the back side of the full moon, and we got lucky and
hit
right between 2 cold fronts. Great weekend!
Brown, there is a 43% chance you would have caught any that weekend anyway....
