Cuts with JD

Light wind, hot water, full moon

Friday:
We hit #4 around 4:30 to save the spot...nothing doing and the water was hot.  Fished till 6, with a bunch of rats in the back, but not one trout.  Back to the boat for a beer break.  Mark calls around 7.  The water was down and it didn't feel good.  I told him it was poor and we were probably not staying so we could get up early.  Of course, we get back out there at 7, kept hitting the rats, and at around 7:45, the first dink trout appears.  Uh oh, then a keeper...and another...and another.  I mean all at once, it was trout on!  We proceed to catch limits to 19" and good reds.  Mine all on top...JD with plastics.  We stay the night and hit Mud at 4:30 to wake some fish with STP and Def L.  Sun up, but no bait or fish.  In by 9:30.  After the best tacos this side of hell, we rack and wake at 3:00

Sat:
Hit #4 at 6:00.  More wind thankfully, so the needle bugs weren't so bad.  This night, not as many trout...but the reds were in full force.  Gulp shrimp hooked weedless did the ultimate trick (only on big red on top).  They never quit.  I went back to the boat to get JD back to the hotspot, and he kept catching.  Seriously, 8-10 keeper limits later, we were pooped (kept only legal amount for overnighter).  Water didn't go down or up as fast, and the fish stayed in back and mouth.
